The Puglia Pop project was born from the desire
to change the way we think about and tell the
story of the world of Apulia wine.
A nice cold beer at the end of a day – the unmentionable dream of any winemaker who is proud to be so.
A walk on the beach at sunset with salt on the skin after a long day spent on the beach.
A favourite song, listened at maximum volume, singing at the top of one’s voice and every note out of tune.
The soccer game with friends on Wednesday night and then everyone at Ciro’s bar.

VINEYARDS: DO THE THINGS YOU LOVE AND LAUGH
Four hectares of vineyards in Martina Franca, located in the highest altitude area, 450 meters above sea level: these soils, suitable for white grapes and with perfect climatic conditions, made this area crucial for Apulian oenology, with one of the oldest appellations in Italy and Europe, Locorotondo DOC.
For Primitivo di Manduria we strongly wanted very ancient vines, making a choice against the trend. We are going to tell you a secret: these vines are no longer in use, nobody cultivates them anymore.
The reason? They have a low yield, mechanical harvesting processes cannot be used and consequently a great involvement of manpower is required. Despite all these difficulties, we chose them to make our dreams come true.

Other three hundred square meters are destined to conviviality and being together: space for pure entertainment, music, aperitifs, on fantastic terraces overlooking the Itria Valley. The space where to enjoy wine that brings people together, the place where to spend fantastic evenings to the rhythm of the tarantella!
And then there are the vineyards, undisputed queens of our company.
Imagine a walk in the middle of the vineyard, a picnic bag, two glasses and a bottle cold enough, the hand of your loved one and around you a wonderful countryside, among trulli, dry stone walls and prickly pears.

For me, Puglia is a feeling, a state of mind, joy, lightheartedness, warmth and color, the Mediterranean soul of us Latins. The Puglia Pop project was born in this land and developed as a break with everything we’ve experienced in the world of wine.
I’m Hugo Rojo de Castro, Spanish but a Puglian by adoption for about 20 years. With the Puglia Pop project, I share the changes that have taken place in recent years in this land that I love and feel is mine.
Puglia Pop is born with four different types of wine that represent the soul of Puglia and its most important and international grape varieties. We wanted to combine the tradition and authenticity of these wines with names that evoke the Apulian territory, but in its most colorful, cheerful, and popular form.

It wasn’t meant to be just a simple break from aesthetic rules, but rather we had to try to build a new paradigm: to tell the story of this region’s wine by leveraging the values ​​and beliefs of the Apulians, their state of mind, and their extremely unconventional thinking, which over time has made them “a people capable of believing in dragons and wizards, yet deeply rational.”
